By November 14, 2025November 16th, 2025No Comments

We are pleased to announce the publication of the first executive report by the Perspectives from the Global South on the Anthropocene team on Regenerative agriculture and Resilient Food Systems, developed by researchers from the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology (MPI-GEA) in collaboration with partners across the Americas, Africa, and Asia.

At a moment when international forums increasingly acknowledge the central role of food systems in both driving and mitigating climate change, this report highlights the leadership and innovation emerging from the Global South. The evidence presented underscores that regenerative and resilient agricultural practices have deep roots in the knowledge and traditions of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, offering viable, low-cost pathways for restoration and climate adaptation.

This volume is dedicated to the communities who work every day to sustain their lands, food systems, and ecosystems, and to those who ensure that ancestral knowledge remains a foundation for equitable futures.
